Copperband Butterflyfish
Chelmon rostratus
The black "eye" spot near its tail is a trick — a predator may aim at the fake eye and lunge at the wrong end, giving the fish a head start to dart away in the other direction.

How to spot
Long, tweezer-like snout, and a round black false-eye spot on the rear of the dorsal fin that fools predators about which end is the head. Tall, coin-shaped body with copper stripes.
True colors
Silvery-white body crossed by four or five bright coppery-orange bands edged in thin black lines. A black band runs down through the eye, and there is a small black patch near the back of the top fin.
