Sailfin Tang
Zebrasoma velifer
When scared or showing off, it raises its huge top and bottom fins to turn its flat body into a giant "sail" — looking far bigger than it is, and warning off enemies without a fight.

How to spot
Very tall sail-shaped fins on top and bottom that raise like two fans, on a round disc body with yellow-and-brown bars. A small mouth scrapes algae; a sharp blade sits each side near the tail.
True colors
Wide grey-brown bands alternate with narrow pale yellow ones. Tiny yellow dots and lines cover the face, and the tall fins match the body. Babies are boldly striped yellow and black.
