Blueface Angelfish
Pomacanthus xanthometopon
Babies look nothing like their parents — black bodies with glowing blue and white stripes. As they reach about 7 to 12 cm they slowly repaint into the yellow, blue-faced adult look.

How to spot
Look for the yellow "mask" band across the forehead between the eyes, the blue speckled face, and a dark, blue-ringed false eyespot near the back of the top (dorsal) fin. The all-yellow tail is another clue.
True colors
Adults are golden-yellow with tiny blue-edged scales, a blue-and-yellow speckled face, blue lips, and a yellow forehead patch. Babies are blue-black with curving white-and-blue stripes.
