How to spot
Look for the big vertical red, blue, white and black bands and the large, forward-pointing "tusk" canine teeth that give this fish its name. It has 12 dorsal spines and 8 soft dorsal rays.
True colors
Seven or eight pairs of bold vertical bands in red-orange, blue, white and black give a clown-like pattern. Its canine teeth are bright blue-green against the dark mouth.
